Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God

Rare Quake Hits DC
July 16, 2010
As I scanned the news reports this morning, my eye was caught by the caption: Rare quake hits DC .
At 5:04 am on July 16, 2010, a rare earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred in the Washington DC area.
The last quake to occur in this area was a 2.0 temblor in 2008, but a larger 2.7 one occurred in 1993.
One report stated that a quake greater than 3 is extremely rare in this area.
In an earlier issue, I stated that a word came to me on September 24, 2001 that “a rare earthquake
is coming,” and this would be a sign of the end. Since then, I have been standing on my guard post
watching for such an event. However, I must add that I have not been looking for the end of the world,
since this is not going to happen. What is coming is the end of our present wicked age or eon, but to get
to this end, it is obvious that some things must happen, such as, the fall of mystery Babylon, along with
the many man-centered systems associated with the great harlot city.
Frankly, the challenge for those who hear from the Lord through His word or in dreams and in visions
is in interpreting what they mean. We can be so physically minded that we focus too much on looking
for specific events in the natural realm while failing to grasp what is transpiring in the spirit realm and
what is its spiritual significance. The heavens do rule, and we need to know what heaven is doing. After
all, Jesus laid down the principle that whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in
heaven and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).
Further, we need to keep in mind that, in these last days, God is shaking the heavens and the earth for a
glorious purpose―to overthrow the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the
kingdoms of the nations (Haggai 2:22) until the kingdom of the world has become the
kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ and He will reign for the ages of the ages
(Revelation 11:15).
Now, having said this, I must admit that I have been expecting something more dramatic to occur in
Washington DC. At the least, this rare quake could be a sign that the very foundation of the heart of
America is being shaken as something is being shaken in heaven. However, it remains to be seen what
lies ahead for our nation’s capital as the representation of the heart of America.
Perhaps this quake is a harbinger of a greater heavenly shaking to come to DC that will be manifested in
events on earth that could be likened to a major shaking, which is what an earthquake does. A total
collapse of a corrupt political system surely would be a rare quake in the US. Perhaps the end that we
should be looking for is an end to this system of hypocrisy and lies. Or perhaps, there will be another
quake of greater magnitude that will bring some level of physical destruction along with a collapse of
the system. Only God knows the answer to these “perhaps.”
This leads me to a vision that came to me very recently.
US Supreme Court building floating down a river.
On June 29, 2010, I was praying about the United States and, frankly, trying to sort through the many
things that are happening in the US today, especially on the political and economic front.
I closed my eyes and a vision came to me of the US Supreme Court building located in Washington
DC. The building was floating down a river, and it was tilted to one side, as if it were about to sink into
the water. It floated out of my sight as it passed behind some other buildings. This occurred while the
US Senate was considering the qualifications of the latest nominee for Supreme Court associate justice.
The very political process by which justice nominees are vetted is a further indication of how broken the
political system is. It is like children playing in a sandbox as the two parties play their power game while
the nominees dance around their questions, avoiding any meaningful scrutiny.
For me, watching the building floating away and sinking into the water is a picture of a failed judicial
system that has become political, no longer administering righteous and impartial judgment. It will only
get worse as long as Man’s Day continues. God’s law requires equal and impartial justice for all. Until
the kingdom of God begins to take root among the nations, man’s justice will continue to be partial and
unrighteous and, as we have seen, political. If our political system is corrupt, then we must expect our
judicial system to be corrupt as well. Corruption is like leaven. Once a little leaven takes hold, it rises
until it corrupts the whole (1 Corinthians 5:6-8; Galatians 5:9).
This should remind us of the warning Jesus gave to His disciples: “Beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees, which is hypocrisy” (Luke 12:1). Leaven signifies hypocrisy, which is one of the
hallmarks of our present-day political system. We could say that our political leaders are a lot like the
Pharisees. Jesus hated hypocrisy, and none of it will be in His kingdom.
This leads to a word I received seventeen months ago that I believe is from the Lord.
On February 10, 2009, I heard: “Thus saith the Lord, ‘I have lifted up a hammer over the
United States and I am about to strike at the very heart of the nation.’” The hammer that is
being lifted up refers to the Word of God, which is His fiery law (Jeremiah 23:29).
I shared my thoughts on this in issues #03-0947 through #03-0953, March-April 2009, A Hammer
Which Strikes a Rock , and have referenced this word in several other issues. I do this to keep this word
in the forefront and to remind us that America is under judgment, along with all of mystery Babylon,
which is the global political, religious, social, and economic system that has seduced the kings and
merchants of the earth, as well as most of the inhabitants of the earth. This system is rooted in the love
of money and is the modern-day version of the golden calf . We must guard our hearts from the heart
of this evil system. See article #31, April 2010, The Mark of the Beast as Signified By 666 .
Dear brethren, one thing we need in this day of darkness is spiritual sight and
discernment, along with hearts that love the Lord Jesus and long to see the love and
Lover of our life, the One who is Life. The word of the Lord to those in Babylonian captivity is:
“Come out of her, My people.” Our hearts need to come out of everything that is not of Christ.
However, this is not the hammer or word of the Lord that is about to strike at the very heart of America,
which, I believe, refers to the corrupt, hypocritical system centered in our nation’s capital.
I am sure that whatever this word is, it will also be manifested in some visible way throughout our
political system and in Washington, DC itself. Again, perhaps this is the rare quake to come. Although it
might appear to be something disastrous, I believe it will be something glorious, for it will be a release
of the American people, along with the rest of the world, from the bondage that all have been under for
nearly a century. See issues #02-08132, October 23, 2008, The Cord of Corruption is Cut , and #02-
08125, September 30, 2008, The Cords of Falsehood .
We are truly living in a day of falsehood, which is lawlessness. Some might think that the enormous
number of laws and regulations that have come forth from our government over the last two years is a
sign of a lawful society; however, it is just the opposite. It is a sign of lawlessness, for many of these laws
simply intrude into the lives of every American and place us more and more under bondage to a corrupt
system led by elite politicians that exempt themselves from the very laws that they thrust upon everyone
else. For those who have any sense of righteousness, the corruption, lies, and hypocrisy of our political
system is a torment, even an enemy, to the soul. By the way, the number 36 (3.6 quake) signifies enemy .
People of God, we need the righteous government of God. We need the kingdom of Christ to take root
among the nations. We need Jesus the King of the nations to come to reign over the earth. Nothing
short of this will do. But who is declaring this in our day? Some with influence are saying we need God,
but I have heard very little being said about needing the kingdom of the Son of His love. Let us pray
“Thy Kingdom come!” without ceasing and declare to the world that Jesus is God’s King .
