Spills, Eruptions, Riots, Plunges

My brain has gone into overdrive as I consider all the events happening in the world today. It seems as
if one big event is occurring after another. In a very short news cycle, the big news has included a
volcanic eruption in Iceland that shut down the EU airline industry, rallies in the streets throughout the
US to protest the Arizona illegal-alien law, an attempted bombing in Times Square by a Jihadist, a
massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a sovereign debt crisis in Greece resulting in riots and violence in
the streets, and the DOW plunging nearly 1,000 points in less than an hour, the largest such drop in its
history. Let us not forget the two devastating earthquakes that have preceded all of this and the ongoing
extreme and often devastating weather in various places across the globe.
Throughout the last year, I stated many times that the year 2010 was going to be a very interesting year,
and so far, it has not disappointed us in that regard, and we are only four months into it. Keep a sharp
eye on May and June. We are still waiting for God’s hammer, His word, to strike the heart of the nation.
Frankly, I want to move on to other topics, especially related to the coming kingdom of our Lord, but I
still have a few snippets of thought rolling around in my brain that I want to report on, sort of odds and
ends. So, here they are.
About an oil spill.
As for the massive oil spill into the Gulf of Mexico, which was caused by a BP oil-rig fire, we need to wait
and see how damaging or devastating this spill will be on the environment and commerce. There is too
much environmental and political agenda built into the reporting to trust all that we are told. However,
one report caught my attention. It stated that 210,000 gallons of oil is being spewed into the waters.
The numbers 21 and 210 refer to Jacob’s distress , which I explain in issue #03-09126, May 28, 2009,
Jacob’s Distress: 21 & 210-Year Cycles . Is this just one more indicator of God’s appointed time? The
news showed fishermen (merchants of the sea) looking out to the Gulf and lamenting over their
potential loss as they await the arrival of the oil. John saw a similar picture as he saw the merchants of
the earth standing at a distance and weeping over such great wealth being laid waste as mystery
Babylon fell in one hour (Revelation 18:15-18). Could this be a harbinger?
About volcanic eruptions.
By the standard of volcanic activity, the Icelandic eruption was not considered in the big league, and
yet, so far, it has disrupted transport across the globe and caused $2 billion in losses to the airline
industry. But is it over? One recent report stated that the plume stretches 2,100 miles. Here is the
number 21o again. Is this coincidence, or is it a prophetic harbinger? By the way, some say that the
volcano south of this one could erupt with 100 times more power, spewing tons upon tons of ash into
the air. Talk about potential climate change! The point is that man thinks he is in control of his destiny,
and yet, when something like this happens, even on a rather small scale, he is helpless to do anything
about it. This is why I keep reminding my readers that God is in control, not man, and at the appointed
time, dramatic change will come to this earth, all in accord with God’s plan, not man’s plan. We need to
keep this perspective as we see what is happening in the world, and as we listen to news reports and
commentary about the news. I find it interesting that when the losses started to mount, the airline
companies were declaring their commitment to safety while at the same time they were demanding that
they get the planes back in the air to make money. I wonder which was more important to them.
This reminds me of a psalm.

I reported in issue #04-1045, May 4, 2010, The End of the Age , that in 2003, I heard: “A volcanic
eruption will occur, the likes of which has not been seen for centuries.” On the spiritual level, this could
refer to a work of the Spirit that is likened to a great eruption. Yet, in the natural realm, do you realize
that there are super volcanoes in the world that scientists monitor because they have the potential of
literally exploding, a super eruption, and spewing enormous amounts of ash into the atmosphere and
causing great devastation? One such volcano that some scientists fear is long overdue for a super
eruption is in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. It is predicted that such an event would be
devastating to the US and the world. I am not joining the crowd that is predicting this will occur in
2012. But then again, I just read that 1800 tremors were recorded for this volcano from January 17 to
February 11, 2010, the second largest swarm of earthquakes on record for this volcano. It was on the 17 th
that I heard: “Pray for the earth for what is coming upon it” (again, see issue #04-1045).
About riots and protests.
It seems that more and more people across the globe are taking to the streets to protest events and
circumstances that impact or could impact their lives; some of the protest is peaceful and some of it is
violent, as in the latest riots in Greece in which three bankers were killed. There are many reasons for
the various protests, but lately they seem to be directed to governments that the people think have let
them down, or have taken something from them, or are taking them in a direction they do not like.
Some of it is about so-called rights that the governments gave to the people and are now taking away.
By the way, the genius of the US Declaration of Independence is about rights: We hold these Truths
to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their
Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the
Pursuit of Happiness . As the Creator, God gives mankind rights, not the governments of men. When
men give them, they can, and often do, take them back, but God’s rights are unalienable.
Now, many people see the current one-world system, which is the kingdom of the world (Revelation
11:15), as a united system, but it is far from it. I believe the recent protests reveal disunity on many
fronts. It is Babel, and it must fall just as the Tower of Babel fell. This reminds me of the words
of Jesus: “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is
divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand” (Mark 3:24-25 NASB). The one-
world system is built with bricks, not stone, and held together with tar, not mortar (Genesis 11:3). How
will it be able to stand when God blows upon it? It fell―and great was its fall (Matthew 7:24-27).
About a plunge in the Stock Market.
The reason for the DOW falling on May 6 by 999 points in less than an hour and nearly wiping out the
equity of one company has not been fully explained. Part of the decline was due to Greece’s sovereign
debt crisis, but this does not fully explain the dramatic plunge. Was it a mistake by a trader? Did the
automated system, which is programmed to sell when certain things happen, kick in? Blame it on the
machines! Or, was someone experimenting to see how fast he could bring the whole thing down in an
hour? [Consider the September 18, 2008 electronic run on the banks that nearly collapsed the entire
global financial system; the reason for which has not been adequately explained.] It was reported that
one trader fell out of his chair in despair as he watched the whole thing unfold. I am sure there were
many traders that were in a state of panic as they tried to figure out what was happening and why. Woe
was on their heart! This reminds me of another Scripture about mystery Babylon.
(9) “And the kings of the earth… will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke
of her burning, (10) standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying,
‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has
come.’” (Revelation 18:9-10 NASB; also see Revelation 6:15-17)
The two towers of the World Trade Center came down in one hour; the DOW plunged in an hour― the
structures are crumbling . “Be on the alert, for you do not know the day nor the hour”
(Matthew 25:13 NASB). “ Yes, I am coming quickly [swiftly]” (Revelation 22:20 NASB [CV]).
Dear people, when the first domino falls, the rest will go swiftly. We do not know which domino is set to
fall that will bring down the whole house, the Babylonian kingdom of the world. Let us be ready.
