Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God

Transparency & Tallest Buildings
January 7, 2010
During 2010, I believe the Lord will manifest Himself in some new way among His conquerors.
Perhaps, this is the year in which He will come to reveal Himself to those who love the thought of His
appearing (2 Timothy 4:8). “I have come” is His word. When He comes, those who are called and
chosen will rise up in glorified bodies and from them will flow rivers of living waters to bring life to
the nations and to preserve many alive. May our hearts be readied for the days ahead!
Now, I have two thoughts that are holdovers from last year.
With the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, there has been much talk about
transparency in the government. The president campaigned on a promise of change, and one of the
changes he pledged to make was to have a more open, honest, and transparent government. Whether or
not this has happened depends on whom one listens to ― the spin doctors and politicians of the party in
power, or the spin doctors and politicians of the party out of power, or everyone else in between that has
an opinion to sell to the media outlets.
In my opinion, they all miss the mark in answering the question: Has there been more openness,
honesty, and transparency in this administration or in our government in general?
As I thought about this question, I was reminded of the Lord’s words.
(1) “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. (2) But there is nothing
covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. (3) Accordingly,
whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have
whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.” (Luke 12:1-3 NASB)
The Pharisees devoted themselves to the law, being “painfully punctilious about legal trifles and
casuistries, whilst reckless of truth, righteousness, and the fear of God” (Fausset’s Bible Encyclopedia
and Dictionary ).
I like this explanation of the Pharisees, for it speaks volumes about the current political system and its
leaders in the US today, especially the part about being reckless of truth, righteousness, and the fear of
God. Like the Pharisees, the leaders of our political system seem to be devoted to the law, but they seem
to be nearly obsessed about it as they attempt to pass and promulgate as much legislation and
regulation as they possibly can get away with in order to control virtually every aspect of the life of every
American. They will say that they are “helping the American people,” and some leaders, undoubtedly,
believe they are. Unfortunately, it seems that even the well-intentioned ones are influenced by a
political system that has been corrupted by power, money, greed, and special interests. The result is that
many of the leaders are very much in the character of the Pharisees.
I might add that the only righteousness they know is self-righteousness and a relative truth that they
defend and use to bolster their unrighteous ways.
Truth is no longer truth based on absolutes but on whatever they want it to be. Isaiah has a word for
(20) Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and
light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (21) Woe to those
who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight! (Isaiah 5:20-21 NASB)
Righteousness is a word that does not even pass through the lips of the political leaders of our day. Paul
had a word for those who do not know or care about the righteousness of God.
(10) There is none righteous, no, not one; (11) there is none that understandeth, there is
none that seeketh after God; (12) they have all turned aside, they are together become
unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one…. (Romans 3:10-12
What is the result? They are not regarding the consequences (i.e., reckless) of their lack of fear of God.
Consequently, I believe that there is a level of transparency going on in our political system today, but it
is not the transparency that the president has sought. I believe God is pulling back the veil on the
hypocrisy and darkness of the system that has gripped the governance of the life of every American. He
is exposing the darkness and the lies of a system of falsehood that is built upon the pride of man.
“But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be
known. Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and
what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.”
Over the last two years, I wrote several issues based on words that the Lord has spoken to me about the
cords of falsehood and the hammer that He is about to strike at the heart of the nation. I believe that, in
2010, we will see a greater manifestation of God’s hammer and the cutting of this cord of falsehood. I do
not know the exact details of what He will do or of His timing, but be assured, it is coming. Please see

Perhaps, the word for the political leaders of Mystery Babylon is: Be careful what you ask for; God just
might bring it to pass. However, be aware that there might be unintended consequences.
“Watch Dubai!”
Issue #03-09181, November 27, 2009, Today’s News. “Watch Dubai!,” reported on Dubai World’s debt
freeze that temporarily shook the world-wide financial markets until the smart Babylonian leaders
figured a way to stay its potential impact. I use the words smart and stay purposely, for the financial
leaders of Babylon know how to control the system to make it appear that all is under control or to hold
back the inevitable collapse of an economic system that is a house of cards built on greed. Eventually,
the financial beast that drives the world economy will fall; it is merely a question of when and what will
be the tipping point, aside from the hand of God coming to bear at the appointed time. See issue #03-
09127, May 25, 2009, The Coming Irreversible Collapse .
I believe that Dubai is a sign of the demise of Babylon, based on something else that occurred at the
same time as this debt freeze was being presented to the world. Dubai is known not only for its lavish
building projects, which include an indoor ski slope (in a desert, no less), but for its construction of the
tallest building in the world. It was recently announced that this 2,700 foot (800-meter) skyscraper was
completed. The interesting fact is that back in the midst of the Great Depression of the 1930’s, the
tallest building of that era was completed as well. It was the Empire State Building. Is this a coincidence
or the hand of God pointing to the coming collapse of the financial beast of Mystery Babylon? It should
remind us of another great tower that might have been the tallest tower of its era, and that was
Nimrod’s Tower of Babel (Babylon). When men set their hearts to build monuments to their name and
pride, then it is time to beware. There is only one God and one Lord, and mankind must be reminded of
this fact. In the end, the heavens do rule, for God rules in the affairs of men.
We are in for very exciting times. Do not fear; the Lord is for us, not against us. He loves us, and He will
see us through to the end. The word that came to me as I considered these matters is this: Humble
yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you (James 4:10 ASV).
