Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God
(Philippians 3:13-14 NASB)
News Update. Prepare for the Day
October 7, 2009
In issue #03-09153, August 24, 2009, I wrote the following: As I have reviewed my journal for this year,
I believe that we are in for a very interesting September 2009 , as well. We need spiritual sight to
discern the times and, in particular, the days to come. We need to be prepared, both spiritually
and physically.
I realize that whenever I, or anyone else for that matter, make a statement with a prophetic edge to it,
there is always the danger that it will be discounted if people do not see some evidence of it in real life.
As I imply in the above, there are two aspects to a prophetic word; one is spiritual and the other is
physical. However, the physical aspect, at least from a prophetic view, is merely a reflection or a
manifestation of what has transpired or is transpiring in the spirit realm, or what is being brought to
bear on earth by the heavens that rule . In other words, a physical event on earth has little spiritual
meaning to us if we do not discern what heaven is doing behind the scenes, so to speak, and this
requires spiritual discernment. Another way to put it is as Paul explained it.
(12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so
that we may know the things freely given to us by God, (13) which things we also speak,
not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining
spiritual (thoughts) with spiritual (words). … (16) For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF
THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. (1
Corinthians 2:12-13, 16 NASB)
We need the mind of Christ because only His mind gives us the ability to combine spiritual with
spiritual, and the wisdom from above needed to discern and explain the times.
Well, I share these thoughts not because I am concerned over anything that I have shared (at least as far
as I know today) but simply to keep the proper perspective regarding the prophetic.
Indeed, as stated above, September 2009 (and continuing into October) was a very interesting month,
both in the spirit and physical realms.
In issue #03-09163, September 13, 2009, Hermes , I explained how I was given the name Hermes the
day after I stood in the gap praying for the United States. What I did not explain in that issue was that,
on September 1, 2009, I stood in the gap again, but that time, it was a stand against the spirit of Hermes
that controls and influences the US political system. By the way, I am not so naïve or egocentric to think
that I am the only one the Lord has called into this sort of prayer, for surely He has led others. I am just
trying to be obedient. I do not take these things lightly, so I only undertake such a thing if I believe the
spirit of God has led me in such a way. However, I also know that the Lord has given me a key of the
kingdom of the heavens that I can use in intercessory battle, so I do.
But here is the good news: On October 2, 2009, we were given an indication that Hermes has been
bound and its influence is on the wane, if not totally removed. I will explain, but bear with me. What
happened on this date in Copenhagen, Denmark? The International Olympic Committee (IOC) soundly
rejected the United States’ bid for the 2016 summer Olympics. Chicago was eliminated on the first
round of voting by the IOC; a shock for many that thought President Obama could “bring home the
gold,” so to speak. Since then, the media has been all aflutter trying to explain how this could happen.
Some, with glee, blame Barack Obama; others, with disdain, blame the last president, George Bush; and
yet others are trying to spin the whole affair to make Obama look good or, at least, deflect any criticism
away from him. I have news for all; they are all WRONG! It was not the fault of either the present
or former president, or anyone else or anything else, for that matter. In fact, it is not a bad thing at all
that the IOC rejected Chicago; it is a good thing and a possible sign of more good to come.
You see, the mythological Greek god Hermes is not only known as the messenger god but also as the
patron god of athletics , which, in case you missed it, is what the Olympics games are all about. If the
influence of Hermes were in play on October 2 when the voting took place, the US might have pulled it
off. But as it were, Hermes’ influence over athletics had been bound, so he could not influence the
outcome of the IOC vote in favor of the US. Again, this is a good sign.
We need to remain alert in the months ahead to see other possible indications that this spirit of
darkness has been bound. As a reminder, the cords of falsehood also were cut nearly a year ago on
September 23, 2008. See issues #02-08125, September 30, 2008, The Cords of Falsehood , and #02-
08132, October 23, 2008, The Cord of Corruption is Cut . What is bound (and loosed) in heaven is
bound (and loosed) on earth, but I have learned that we must transcend time , which means we must
wait for it to be manifested on earth. See issue #03-0989, August 17, 2009, Transcend Time . Since
there is more than one cord, we should expect to see this cutting manifested in a variety of ways from
now until, most likely, May-June 2010, which will be 210 years from the date when the US Capitol was
transferred from Philadelphia, PA to Washington, DC. On May 15, 1800, President Adams informed his
cabinet to pack up and get ready to move and set up shop in DC on June 5. The seat of government was
officially transferred to Washington on June 11, 1800.
I must emphasize that what has been presented is merely a sign of a great sea change that is coming.
Thus, the US, along with the rest of the world, has some rough days ahead as God removes those
things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be
shaken may remain , for we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:27-28).
In other world events, September started with a 7.0 earthquake in Java, Indonesia; moved to a 8.0
earthquake in the South Pacific that resulted in a tsunami inundating the Samoan Islands; and ended in
two earthquakes, 7.9 and 7.6 in magnitude, hitting Padang, Indonesia. Shortly after this, central
California also experienced a series of earthquakes with the largest a magnitude-5.1 (no damage,
however). Two typhoons hit the Philippines causing major flooding. Major flooding also was reported in
southern India, which has led to the displacement of 2.5 million. The loss of life and property continues
to be tallied in all these regions. Further, on September 17, 2009, it was reported that six volcanoes
were erupting in the Kamchatka region of Russia. Well, this is only a smattering of world events that are
causing havoc in various regions, but I think you get the point.
On the financial front, on September 25, 2009, the G-20 nations met and declared themselves the
Board of Directors of the world economy and further committed their nations to come under the
auspices of the Financial Stability Board , the finance court of the world . The US dollar
continues to slide in value, and many nations are talking more openly about moving away from the
dollar as the world’s reserve currency. I just read a document titled “Three Government Reports
Point to Fiscal Doomsday” (October 5, 2009). If true, the future of the US economy does not look
very good. But of greater importance is the thought that Mystery Babylon is taking its last stand for
world dominance before the Stone Kingdom fully crushes it and blows it away like chaff.
To conclude, here are a few words that recently came to me that coincide with recent events and
possibly point to more to come.
On September 2, 2009, in relation to the banking system, I heard: “Panic in the streets.” On October
1, I heard a similar word: “Confusion, panic.” Panic is not out of the question, considering the
financial disaster that some are warning looms on our horizon. We need to be reminded that Babylon
(Babel) means confusion . Confusion abounds in our day as Mystery Babylon fights for its life. On
September 13, 2009, I heard: “Jihadists are coming.” Frankly, I paid little attention to this word
until about a week later when I realized that, starting around the 19 th , the media was awash with news of
several different suspected terrorist plots and the arrest of those suspected of planning them. Are more
to come? As if to remind me that I am not hearing my own voice, on October 1, around 7 am, I heard:
“Worcester in the news.” I kept checking the news, but nothing was reported. Then, later that
same day , I received a letter in the mail from my deceased mother’s best friend who lives in the
Worcester area. Her note included an article from the Worcester newspaper about the death of
someone my parents knew. Coincidence? I doubt it! I believe this news has some spiritual significance,
but I must seek further clarification. Finally, I keep hearing: “Prepare for the day.”
