Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God
(Philippians 3:13-14 NASB)
Modern-Day False Prophets
September 15, 2009
I want to share something that has been on my heart for awhile. But before I do, I need to recap a few
things that I believe the Lord has spoken to me; things I have mentioned in other issues. I believe that
the Lord has charged me “to warn and to encourage My people,” and so I have attempted to do just this.
On February 27, 1995, I heard a very clear word from the Lord: “When you see the structures
crumble, testify of My kingdom.” In some measure I did this, beginning in 1995, but as I watched
the twin towers (structures) of the World Trade Center crumble to the ground eight years ago, I knew
without doubt that it was the sign that I had to intensify testifying of His kingdom, and I have done so
in earnest ever since. In 2007 and especially in 2008, we began to see more structures crumble, but
instead of physical buildings, we saw systems, most notably the financial system, the beast of Mystery
Babylon, begin to fall. The crumbling of this system is not done, for the Stone Kingdom must crush it
until it becomes like chaff from the summer threshing floors and is carried away by the wind until there
is no trace of it (Daniel 2:31-35; Revelation 18).
In addition to the financial system, today, I believe we are witnessing the crumbling of the corrupt and
hypocritical US political system that has become a bastion of unrighteousness, injustice, and lies, and
most likely, will fall with Mystery Babylon. Its motto: It is ok to lie and deceive, just don’t call it that!
Some might accuse me of being a doomsayer, but I do not see what I report as being doomsday; rather,
I see it as good news, for it means the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ (Stone Kingdom) is
coming, and it will fill the whole earth. There is nothing greater than seeing the nations finally come
under the reign of Christ and His conquerors as they teach the inhabitants of the earth righteousness.
Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns; indeed, the world is firmly established, it will
not be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity.” (Psalms 96:10 NASB)
(11) Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all it contains;
(12) let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
(13) before the LORD, for He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge
the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness . (Psalm 96:11-13 NASB)
(1) The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad. (2) Clouds and
thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His
throne . (3) Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about. (4) His
lightnings lit up the world; the earth saw and trembled. (5) The mountains melted like
wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. (6) The
heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples have seen His glory. (Psalm 97:1-6
Some might read these verses with fear and trembling at what might come upon the nations in these
last days, but I rejoice with the psalmist in these verses. I love to read them, for they speak of the glory
of the Lord filling the whole earth, and creation itself being set free or emancipated from its slavery to
corruption (Romans 8:21), which comes about due to the manifestation of the sons of God.
Now, back to my initial point; in the series #03-0947 to #03-0953, April 2009, A Hammer Which
Shatters A Rock , and issues #03-0990, August 14, 2009, and #0309163, September 13, I reported that I
heard on:
January 7, 2009: “Stand in the gap for your country, for she is about to go through
something she has never experienced before.”
February 10, 2009: “Thus saith the Lord, ‘I have lifted up a hammer over the United
States and I am about to strike at the very heart of the nation.’” “A death is coming,
the likes of which no one has ever seen.”
June 23, 2009, at 11.11 pm: “Disaster, a real disaster.”
These are some, but not all, of the more pronounced words that I have heard this year alone. I have
heard other warnings in past years that go along with these and have reported on many of them.
As I have considered these words, I believe they refer more to the death of Mystery Babylon and all that
it represents than to specific individuals. It must be so, for the things that can be shaken, that is, the
things of man, must be shaken so that what cannot be shaken, that is, the things of Christ, may remain
(Hebrews 12:25-29). Of course, this does not mean that people will not be caught up in these shakings;
they most certainly will as all that they have held to as their security and their future becomes chaff;
some may lose even their lives along the way.
What has been on my heart is this: Today, there are many, actually too many, so-called experts speaking
forth their opinions and views on virtually every subject under the sun, but especially on the subjects of
politics and finance or the economy. It matters not who they are or through what venue of media they
trade their views; they run the gamut from politicians, to news broadcasters, to talk show hosts, to
subject-matter experts, even to religious experts. The fact of the matter is that in the political and
financial realms alone there are an inordinate number of people offering their views 24/7 that run the
gamut from A to Z. However, one thing that they all have in common is that they each represent a
cause, a group, or a movement that is dear to their heart. We should not underestimate how much these
experts influence the general public that listens to them. They have become our modern-day
prophets that are leading the masses to idolize and worship the things of men―ideas, systems, and
people. The whole realm of high-tech media has become the altar of this worship .
You might question: How can one call these secular experts prophets? The answer is simple; one of the
definitions of a prophet is “a spokesman for some cause, group, or movement.”
The question is this: Who among these elite is standing in the council of the Lord and
hearing His voice? Who is speaking forth the wisdom from above and not the wisdom of man?
The Scripture that keeps coming to me in these last days is the word of the Lord spoken through
Jeremiah. I realize that Jeremiah spoke as a prophet to ancient Judah, but I see a very clear parallel to
our day and the modern-day prophet.
Thus says the LORD of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who are
prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility; they speak a vision of their own
imagination, not from the mouth of the LORD. (17) ‘They keep saying to those who
despise Me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace’”; and as for everyone who walks
in the stubbornness of his own heart, they say, ‘Calamity will not come upon you.’ (18)
“But who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should see and hear His word?
Who has given heed to His word and listened?” (Jeremiah 23:16-18 NASB)
“I did not send these prophets, but they ran. I did not speak to them, but they prophesied.
(22) But if they had stood in My council, then they would have announced My words to
My people, and would have turned them back from their evil way and from the evil of
their deeds.” (Jeremiah 23:21-22 NASB)
There is much to be gleaned from Jeremiah 23, but the point that I want to underline is in these verses.
The modern-day prophets are false prophets, and they are leading people into futility and a false sense
of hope and change. Many despise the Lord and are trying to steer the masses to their ideology or belief
system or worldview or cause or group or movement. Just listen to the many voices speaking forth in
these days and it will be apparent rather quickly that they are not speaking as ones that have stood in
the council of the Lord to hear what He has to say about what is going on in the world that He loves.
The world does not need more voices; it needs a few voices that can speak for the Lord because they
have sought the Lord and stood in His council. Let us listen for the Lord’s voice!
