Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet;
but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God

The Numbers 61 & 37
February 19, 2009
As stated in issue #03-0927, The Number 888 , February 10, 2009 was a very interesting day. The US
Stock Market dropped 382 points to 7888.88, and the US Senate brought to cloture the misnamed
stimulus bill by a vote of 61 to 37. It is also interesting that Russian and American space satellites
collided on this day as well. I am not sure of the significance of this event, but then again, given the day
in which we live, perhaps there is some spiritual meaning. I also noted that the 10 th was the culmination
of a 7-8 day period in which I saw and heard some things for which I am seeking further clarification.
Now, let us look at the number 61. For those who study the meaning of numbers in Scripture or what
some call the “bible number code” or “biblical mathematics,” you will not find any specific reference to
the number 61 in most reference books. The significance of 61 is not in the number itself but in the two
numbers that make it up. I like to think of it as 6 plus 1 equals 7, or 6 days plus 1 day equals 7 days, with
the number 1 actually representing the 7 th day.
Simply, the number 61 represents God’s plan for mankind and the present earth upon which we live. I
have written an entire chapter on this subject in The Purpose and Plan of the Eons , Volume 1, Chapter
2, After Six Days…On The Seventh Day , so you are encouraged to read it for further understanding.
According to Moses, Elohim restored the ruined earth in 6 days and rested on the 7 th day.
God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and
there was morning, the sixth day. (Genesis 1:31 NASB)
(1) Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. (2) By the seventh
day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from
all His work which He had done. (3) Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it,
because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. (4) This is
the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the
LORD God made earth and heaven. (Genesis 2:1-4 NASB)
Peter adds more meat to the seven days by telling us that the Lord’s days are 1,000-year days.
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like
a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. (2 Peter 3:8 NASB)
Then, Paul draws us back to Genesis and tells us that there is coming a 7 th day.
( 4) For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh [day] thus, “And God rested on
the seventh day from all His works;” [Gen 2:2] (5) and in this [place] again, “They will not
enter into My rest.” [Ps 95:11] (6) Therefore, since it remains for some to enter into it, and
the ones having first heard the Gospel did not enter in because of disobedience due to
unbelief, (7) again He designates a certain day, “Today,” saying in David, after such a
long time just as it has been said, “Today if you hear His voice, stop hardening your
hearts [fig., becoming stubborn] .” [Psalm 95:7, 8] (8) For if Joshua had given them rest, He
[i.e., God] would not have spoken concerning another day after these [things]. (9) So there
remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. (Hebrews 4:4-9 ALT)
Of course, the 7 th day speaks of the kingdom of Christ that is coming to this earth upon completion of
the 6,000 years ordained for Man’s Day. The 7 th day is the Lord’s Day, also called the Kingdom Age or
the Tabernacles Age, which will last for 1,000 years. Following the 7 th day is the 8 th day or God’s Day in
which the new heavens, new earth, and New Jerusalem come into view as God makes all new.
Thus, prophetically speaking, the number 61 sums up the history of our present earth. The number 61
reminds us that God’s plan requires that the kingdom of our Lord be manifested over the nations of the
earth at the time fixed by the Father. The eons (ages) have been made through the Son of God (Hebrews
1:2); all in accord with God’s plan that His Son shall inherit the nations and possess the earth (Psalm 2).
As an aside, the Lord has manifested His will for my wife and me on many occasions through the
number 61, which was first revealed to me in a dream on December 6, 1998. I have written on the
importance of this number in our life with the Lord over about a 27-year period. It is only available on
request, so if interested, email me and I will send you an electronic copy.
Now, let us consider the number 37. The meaning of words, thoughts, or names can be gleaned by
gematria, either as a single number or multiples of a number, or by the actual number of times a word,
thought, or name appears in Scripture. The number 37 can be understood in all these ways. According
to gematria, many of the titles, names, and attributes of the Father and the Son are multiples of the
number 37; for example: God (37); Only Son (37); Power (37); Glory (37); Truth (37); Wonderful
(37x3); the Most High (37x3); Son of the Living God (37x3); Lord of all (37x3); Nazarene (37x6); The
Rock (37x8); Only Begotten (37x10); My Messiah (37x10); Peace (37x10); The Door (37x14).
Also, the number 37 has a very unique quality in that multiplying it by 3 or a multiple of 3 up to its third
power yields a multiple of a single number. For example: 37x3 = 111; 37x6 = 222; 37x9 = 333; 37x15 =
444; 37x27 = 999. No other number yields the same result. Further, the number 3 signifies divine
perfection, which has led one commentator to claim that this means the number 37 speaks of the word
of God as the only means to unite the heart of all mankind through Christ, who is the Word of God.
These are all interesting ways to understand the number 37; however, there is one more aspect of this
number that fits well with the numbers 8 and 61; the number 37 also signifies inheritance, specifically
the inheritance that awaits all who conquer or overcome.
The name Caleb appears 37 times in the Bible. According to the record, the first generation of the sons
of Israel was disqualified from entering and receiving an inheritance in the Promised Land, with the
exception of Joshua and Caleb. They were a type of the conqueror.
“But My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I
will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of
it.” (Numbers 14:24 NASB)
Therefore, Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite
until this day, because he followed the LORD God of Israel fully. (Joshua 14:14 NASB)
Interestingly, the concept of receiving an inheritance or reward is discovered when the names Noah
(Genesis 9:24), Abram (Genesis 15:1), Abraham (Genesis 21:5), Isaac (Genesis 26:12), Moses (Exodus
6:2), Joseph (Genesis 40:12), and Jerusalem (2 Samuel 19:19) appear in Scripture for the 37 th time; all
of which point in type to the Lord’s conquerors receiving an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, the
inheritance of glorified and immortal bodies.
How are we to tie the numbers 8, 888, 61, and 37 together? Obviously, they do not refer directly to what
happened on February 10 th in regard to the stock market or to the cloture vote, both of which, I believe,
are signs of the impending fall of mystery Babylon. As a side note, on February 13 th , the US Senate
passed the final version of what I call “the sinking of the Titanic bill” by a vote of 60 to 38. The number
60 signifies the pride of man, and the number 38 signifies slavery . This bill will make the American
people slaves to trillions of dollars of debt. Convinced that they knew best for the country and did not
need to consider other views, which is called pride, the “smart” politicians that voted for this bill did so
without even reading it. But it is more insidious than this, for the Democratic Party took advantage of
the present financial crisis to solidify their power so that they can socially reengineer the very fabric of
American life. It is called socialism. Starting with the president, the politicians are telling us that they
are going to operate with higher standards of ethics and transparency. It is moral bankruptcy!
Thank God, a better day is coming, which is a new beginning, a new creation (8) in Jesus (888) as the
Father brings the 6 th day to an end and ushers in the 7 th day (61) of the kingdom of our Lord and of His
Christ. In that day, the conquerors will receive their reward or inheritance (37). Glory to God!
